The cheapest production car is the Tata Nano, a four-door, five-seater family car with a 33 bhp, 623 cc rear-engine (with a maximum speed of 70 km/h or 43 mph), which will go on sale in 2008 for 100,000 rupees ($2,500 or £1,277).
