Cheapest production car - Tata Nano

The cheapest production car is the Tata Nano, a four-door, five-seater family car with a 33 bhp, 623 cc rear-engine (with a maximum speed of 70 km/h or 43 mph), which will go on sale in 2008 for 100,000 rupees ($2,500 or £1,277). Tata Motors (India) launched the motor car at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi, India on 10 January 2008, with the aim of providing car ownership to millions of people across the developing world.
